Just in Time for Foster Youth

Mission

Just in Time for Foster Youth's mission is to engage a caring community to help transition age foster youth achieve self-sufficiency and well-being. When transition age youth (18-26) leave the System, we invite them to join a reliable community that helps them become confident, capable and connected. We envision a future in which every youth leaving the foster care system has access to a Community of caring adults after 18. We believe forging consistent, lasting relationships is the foundation for the success of our youth so they can thrive and enjoy productive, satisfying lives.

Goals

1.Change mental models for effectively serving young people impacted by foster care by challenging existing systems and creating a movement toward community-based, lived experience-led solutions.
2.Strengthen capacity to share our model with partner organizations nationwide to effectively leverage local communities, adopt measurement tools, storytelling. and attract funding for greater impact.
3.JIT's goal is to "scale by sharing" our model nationwide to annually impact 100,000 young people impacted by foster care by helping partners create reliable, responsive, real communities of support.
