    Life is Good Playmaker Project

    Mission

The Life is Good Playmaker Project teaches early childhood professionals to help kids heal from trauma. One-in-three kids experience early childhood trauma - threats like homelessness, abuse, or community violence. The former president of the American Academy of Pediatrics has called these types of experiences " the single greatest unaddressed public health threat facing our nation today." Experiences with childhood trauma can impact a child's long-term physical, social and emotional health. Research shows that a positive relationship with just one caring adult in early childhood can change the course a child's life entirely. Through over thirty years of practice, we've found that play is the most effective way to create those connections. Today, we have a community of over 16,000 early childhood professionals in the US, Haiti and beyond who are working every day to build the healing, life-changing relationships with kids that help them thrive. We call them Playmakers.
