Collaborative for Academic Social and Emotional Learning - Casel

Mission

Since 1994, the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) has been the trusted source for social and emotional learning (SEL). Our mission is to help make evidence-based SEL an integral part of education from preschool through high school. Through research, practice, and policy, CASEL collaborates to ensure all students have access to the benefits of SEL.

We envision all children and adults as self-aware, caring, responsible, engaged, and lifelong learners who work together to achieve their goals and create a more inclusive, just, and equitable world.

Goals

1.Foster better understanding of how to achieve and sustain high-quality, systemic SEL for all young people and adults.
2.Support More SEL leaders in districts and schools to gain the knowledge, skill, and will to implement high quality SEL.
3.Help align priorities for SEL from the federal level to the district level, which will result in increased funding and time allocated for high-quality SEL.
