We assume that the distribution of a meal from one nonprofit's food distribution program does not diminish the amount of food distributed by any other (neighboring) food distribution program. This “counterfactual” assumption about the amount of food distributed in the absence of the nonprofit’s food distribution program implies that the benefit of a meal to a beneficiary in need constitutes a net gain; the gain is not offset by reductions in food provided to other beneficiaries in need. We therefore set the counterfactual to zero.

CORE Foundation's strategic partners include nonprofits such as Cornerstones VA that promotes self-sufficiency by providing support and advocacy for those in need of food, shelter, affordable housing, quality childcare, and other human services as well as Reston Association, an organization with a tradition of supporting and maintaining the quality of life in Reston, VA. CORE's Chair and Executive Director are both invited to speak annually at national leadership conferences such as Dreamforce and local events like the CORE Giving Gala and Community Hero Awards. CORE gives back to the community through sport and partners with USA Triathlon to provide opportunities to "tri" for underserved youth, adaptive, and paralympic athletes. As our mission, CORE Foundation ignites and supports charitable projects which address societal needs, build community, and enable positive change. We do this by mentoring and fiscally sponsoring nonprofit start ups that share our vision to "be the change..."
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
When the pandemic was upon us, CORE Foundation quickly pivoted from our "normal" projects to address the needs of the community. We developed resources to sport the local relief effort helping neighbor as well as those on the front lines, putting the "unity" in our community.
