Massachusetts Rivers Alliance Inc.

Mission

Mass Rivers’ mission is to protect and restore the Commonwealth’s rivers and streams. To be successful in this mission, we prioritize climate resilience and ensure that our river solutions also promote economic and racial justice locally. We believe every community in the state has the right to a clean healthy river, and every river in the state should be free of pollution. We work collaboratively with a mix of partners, and strive to build a movement that is inclusive of all backgrounds and demographics, and values the diverse perspectives they bring.

Vision

Goals

1.Expand educational resources regarding the impact of climate change on our rivers including stormwater management, drought, and increased pollution. The complex and critical relationship between climate change and rivers demands that climate change play a central role in all of our work
2.No person, regardless of their race, color, location, age, or socioeconomic status should be denied the benefits of the rivers that are integral to life. We are ensuring that our advocacy work reaches environmental justice communities who are hardest hit from climate change and water quality issues.
3.In order to carry out this work, Mass Rivers deploys a small team of talented, creative, and hard-working staff, supported by a strong, engaged Board of Directors. We take pride in our team, and we are on track to grow at a steady, healthy pace.
