Fashion Scholarship Fund

Mission

The Fashion Scholarship Fund (FSF) is the foremost fashion-oriented education and workforce development nonprofit in the U.S., working directly with the country's most talented young students and awarding over $1.9 million each year in scholarships to help students succeed in all sectors of the industry including design and product development, merchandising, marketing, and business strategy.

FSF is committed to cultivating the next generation of fashion leaders.

Goals

1.In alignment with our 2024-27 Strategic Plan, we introduced new programs to reduce barriers to success, including the FSF Bridge Fund, awarding grants of up to $5,000 to enable Scholars with demonstrable financial need to take advantage of important career-building opportunities such as summer internships, and the FSF Future Forward program, a multi-year scholarship program for college sophomores.
2.We continue to expand access for underrepresented students, and, in 2025, we launched FSF University, a new online course that builds access and promotes workforce preparedness. We recruit through partnerships with FSF Member colleges, including 14 HBCUs, 7 HSIs, and 17 community colleges, and we doubled the number of Virgil Abloh "Post-Modern" Scholars from 30 to 60 in 2025.
3.We have increased staff capacity to deepen the support we provide Scholars through mentorship, internship and employment opportunities, and other programming. We developed an enhanced data management platform and launched a robust Evaluation Plan. We expanded and re-envisioned our communications (including social media) to center our Scholars and Alumni and to reach new potential Scholars.
