We work closely with referral agencies, and support their efforts both with presence and through personal financial investment (not from our organization). We participate in a variety of networking organizations that are both industry specific, as well as general business networking to bring awareness to our work. We have invested in a variety of advertising including buses and billboards to reach potential clients; we are active on the major social media applications.

Story of Adaptability

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.


We are a residential program with clients working outside of the organization, as well as staff working at other businesses. We need to ensure the health and safety of everyone, so we implemented a mask mandate, required temperature checks each day of staff and residents, asked the typical COVID exposure questions and developed a tracing log for each person that was in the building each day. We were awarded PPP loans for Rounds 1 and 2, which helped us maintain our vital staffing levels. We instituted a quarantine protocol for all new residents, requiring them to quarantine for 10 days in a bedroom designed for them, while still providing services with staff wearing appropriate PPE. Our major fundraising event was cancelled, so we reached out to our donors and potential donors through letters, social media, and our newsletter appealing for their help in light of this cancellation. We also applied for and received three local-level grants designed for COVID relief.
