Community Animal Medicine Project (CAMP)

Mission

CAMP (Community Animal Medicine Project) is about community – providing access to affordable veterinary services in underserved areas and helping to keep pets and their people together, where they belong. CAMP’s mission is to substantially reduce animal shelter euthanasia and intake by providing high quality, low-cost veterinary services to underserved communities in the Los Angeles area. CAMP is Southern California’s largest nonprofit veterinary organization, providing affordable, high-quality spay/neuter and community medicine through six clinics and two mobile units across Los Angeles. Since 2007, CAMP has fixed more than 350,000 dogs and cats and now serves over 100,000 pets annually, offering services at about 80% below private veterinary costs. CAMP’s RACE-certified Veterinary Training Project strengthens the state’s veterinary workforce by training professionals in high-quality, high-volume techniques. A women- and majority-BIPOC-led organization, CAMP is deeply rooted in historically excluded communities and is committed to keeping pets and families healthy, safe, and together.
