Mission

We combat food insecurity in Horry County by providing reliable access to nutritious food. Through our daily community kitchen, client-choice pantry, Fresh Xpress produce distribution, and OrderAhead refrigerated lockers, children, adults, and seniors can get food when they need it. We remove barriers like inflexible work schedules and limited transportation with flexible hours, online ordering, and convenient pickup, while honoring personal preferences and dietary needs. We focus on results: more meals served, more days of groceries per household, and a stronger selection of fresh produce, dairy, and proteins. Our team prepares wholesome meals, keeps pantry shelves balanced, and treats every neighbor like a neighbor.

Vision

Shepherd’s Table envisions a future where no neighbor goes hungry and every individual has the dignity of choosing the food that nourishes their family. By expanding innovative programs, deepening community partnerships, and breaking down barriers to access, we aspire to transform Horry County into a place where food security is the norm, not the exception. Together, we will build a stronger, healthier community where generosity, dignity, and compassion ensure that the table is truly set for everyone.

Goals

1.Increase the number of hot, nutritious meals served annually by 10% (from ~30,000 to 33,000) within the next 12 months.
2.Ensure that at least 80% of meals served include a fresh fruit or vegetable by the end of the first year.
3.Provide at least one hot meal per day to 500 unique neighbors each month by the end of the first year.
