Vision

The Arc of New Jersey, on behalf of all individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will: -secure the opportunity for them to choose and realize their individual goals; -take a leadership position in developing public policy, laws and regulations and serve as public spokesperson and advocate for this constituency; -reduce the incidence and limit the consequence of intellectual and developmental disabilities through advocacy, education, research and prevention activities; -enhance their quality of life, thereby improving the quality of life for their families; and -develop and foster programs, services and supports, and work with Local Chapters and The Arc of the United States to carry out our goals.

Goals

1. 1.Advance the interests and concerns of people with IDD and their families in the Administration, Legislature, and in the courts; influence the practices of other private and public sectors. Work with people with IDD and their families to amplify their stories, call for recognition of their human dignity and the challenges they face, affirm their abilities and contributions, and demand change.
2. 2.Empower, support and assist people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families by providing them with information, education, resources and advocacy.
3. 3.Build upon the strengths of The Arc to enhance, grow and stabilize the organization. Expand our presence as a critical part of every community where people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live.
