    Village Enterprise

    Mission

We believe it's possible to end extreme poverty in Africa. That's why we equip women, refugees, and youth to launch small businesses and break generational cycles of extreme poverty themselves. Our dignified and cost-effective approach to poverty alleviation not only ensures our entrepreneurs have the best resources for their businesses to thrive longterm, but it's proven to help them navigate the ongoing effects of climate change, global inflation, and displacement. With sustainable incomes and savings, our entrepreneurs are eating more nutritious meals, sending their children to school, furthering conservation efforts and gender equity, and building brighter futures for generations to come. To date, Village Enterprise has trained 373,986 people to become entrepreneurs (80% of which are women), launched 118,537 businesses, and impacted more than 2 million lives. By partnering with governments, international NGOs, United Nations agencies, and local organizations, Village Enterprise is on a mission to end extreme poverty for 20 million people by 2030. Village Enterprise is headquartered in San Carlos, CA, and operates in eight countries across Africa with offices in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Ethiopia.
