Mission

The mission of Young Scholars' Institute is to empower Trenton area youth through educational, cultural, and recreational activities to help them develop the skills necessary to excel academically and to maximize their academic, vocational, and career choices. YSI programs are either free or offered at extremely discounted prices, thereby enabling students from low-income and moderate-income households who lack the financial, educational, and emotional support to better access the supplemental pre-college activities completed by their affluent counterparts with whom they will compete for college admissions and jobs.

Vision

To create a future where every youth in the Trenton area, regardless of financial or educational background, has the opportunity to unlock their full potential and achieve academic and career success. We envision a community where educational inequality is eliminated, and every young scholar is empowered with the tools and support needed to thrive in higher education and beyond.

Goals

1.Our primary goal is to provide comprehensive educational, cultural, and recreational programming that equips underserved youth with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to excel academically and competitively pursue college admissions and meaningful careers. We aim to close the opportunity gap and ensure that every young scholar has access to the resources necessary to succeed.
2.Our secondary goal is to provide sufficient educational, cultural, and recreational programming that inspires underserved youth to pursue meaningful academic knowledge and experiences that will contribute to their academic profiles, making them competitive for college admissions and meaningful careers.
