Mission

Founded in 1991, the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts administers a charitable endowment consisting of approximately 550 separately identified funds ($120 million) serving the three counties bordering the Connecticut River in Western Massachusetts (Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin counties). The Foundation also plays a central role in the charitable distributions from four large private foundations in the region, administered by Bank of America and representing approximately $24.6 million in additional charitable assets.
