Bible Open Air Mission
Mission
BOAM's mission is to train local evangelistic teams worldwide to reach their own people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. As men, women and children come to Jesus, we then establish bible studies among these new converts, some of which become churches that are locally-led (indigenous), self-supporting and self-propagating. As these churches plant other churches, the need for foreign support is diminished, and God’s work continues under local impetus. Through God’s power and for His glory, this model has been successfully implemented in several countries.
Vision
At BOAM we love Jesus, His gospel message and the people of the world that He has created. Everything we do is driven by that love for God and others. We envision a world where every man, woman and child has the opportunity to hear the Gospel of God’s love, and make a free choice to follow Him if they so desire.
Goals
- 1.BOAM-associated evangelists have started so many new churches that we have difficulty finding and training pastors to lead them. We believe that a new focus on training can address both of these problems. BOAM plans to create a new mission element to find suitable training solutions, and to oversee their implementation. We seek God's wisdom, leading and provision in this process.
- 2.BOAM has a strong work in some of our 23 countries and a developing work in others. Christians elsewhere regularly ask us to come to their country. We bring these requests before the Lord and seek His guidance as we consider BOAM's ability to take on new fields without causing the existing work to suffer. We've had to say no or "wait" to some requestors because we lack capacity and resources.
- 3.BOAM members love Jesus, His gospel message and the people of the world who need to hear it. Our director and board members regularly share BOAM's vision and advocate for monetary and manpower support. In 2023, BOAM commissioned a volunteer to present our vision to churches on a monthly basis. Another board member has engaged BOAM's internet profile in order to elicit more monetary support.
