    Sights for Hope

    Mission

    Sights for Hope empowers the people of Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley and Monroe County to succeed no matter how they see the world. Sights for Hope provides adaptive skills training for people with limited or no vision, boosts their confidence, expands their access to essential services, and helps them obtain assistive devices for independence. Sights for Hope also acts to prevent vision loss by promoting healthy vision habits and connecting pre-kindergarten children with professional eye care. Founded in response to a challenge by Helen Keller, Sights for Hope has served Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley since 1928 and Monroe County since 2002. More than 49% of Sights for Hope’s clients who are blind or have visual impairments have household incomes below or near the federal poverty line, and approximately 85% are or below 300% of the federal poverty line. Most of Sights for Hope’s services are provided at no cost.
