Mission

THE MISSION OF THE DOWNINGTOWN LIBRARY IS TO ENSURE THAT EVERY RESIDENT OF THE GREATER DOWNINGTOWN AREA HAS ACCESS TO EXCEPTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO READ, LEARN, CREATE, CONNECT AND CONTRIBUTE TO A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE.

Vision

The Downingtown Library Company (DLC) is a welcoming center of knowledge, inspiration, resources and opportunity for all residents. The DLC contributes to a healthy, safe and economically vibrant community.

Goals

1.The DLC will provide a center of knowledge, resources and inspiration that offers meaningful and relevant opportunities to read, learn and create.
2.The DLC will enhance in-Library and online access to library programs and services and continue efforts to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
3.The DLC will build the capacity of our public library to ensure its long-term sustainability.
