Vision

The American Musicological Society generates, preserves, and extends knowledge about music. It works to be inclusive, equitable, accessible, and environmentally sustainable, and to build capacity as needed to support its mission and constituents.

Goals

1. 1.Support - The AMS aims to provide direct support for those working to expand our understanding of music and sound in the form of fellowships, grants, awards, and professional development programs.
2. 2.Capacity - The AMS is committed to expanding its human, digital, financial and physical infrastructure as needed to meet the demands of a rapidly changing time.
3. 3.Outreach - The AMS is committed to developing programs for a broad range of constituents, including K-16 educators, professionals in creative industries, and the musically engaged public.
