Mission
The mission of Coalition for Clean Air (CCA) is to protect public health, improve air quality, and prevent climate change. As California’s only statewide organization focused solely on air and climate protection, CCA helps policymakers, businesses, and individuals support clean air.
CCA's policy priorities include reducing diesel pollution from California’s freight industry, directing climate investments to benefit the most polluted communities, supporting sustainable and equitable transportation, and promoting clean air technologies.
Since its founding in 1971, CCA has led groundbreaking initiatives, such as alternatives to dirty diesel buses, banning toxic chemical use by dry cleaners, and using incentive funding to speed the transition to clean vehicles—programs, policies, and practices that have been adopted across the nation and throughout the world.
Through its community outreach and educational programs, CCA builds the capacity of its supporters to improve air quality and prevent climate change. These programs include the California Clean Air Day, the All About Air Quality Bootcamp, and the Los Angeles Unified Know Your Air Network, the largest school-based air quality monitoring network in the country.
