To inspire and unify the residents of Port Washington, to protect and advance the vibrancy, resiliency, sustainability and beauty of our Peninsula.

Vision

Residents Forward (RF), founded in 1968, has grown into a leading environmental nonprofit, impacting every inch of the Port Washington peninsula. Rooted in the belief that our environment, health, and well-being are interconnected, RF envisions and advances projects that make Port Washington beautiful, sustainable, and resilient. For over 50 years, RF has served the 17,000-strong community through: Advocacy, including funding Long Island’s most comprehensive groundwater sustainability study and hosting public discussions to shape our waterfront’s future. Beautification initiatives that enhance our town’s charm. Community events that bring us together. Environmental education, reaching every student in the PW School District, inspiring future leaders. Together, we’re building a brighter, greener future for Port Washington.

Goals
