    Burn Institute

    Mission

    Established in 1972, the Burn Institute is dedicated to reducing the number of burn injuries and deaths in San Diego and Imperial Counties through fire and burn prevention education, burn survivor support, and funding burn care research and treatment. <br><br>The Burn Institute's goal is a community in which all burn survivors have the resources and support to overcome the devastating psychological and physical effects of their injuries, and community members are educated on how to prevent fires and burns. Our programs fall into two categories: Fire and Burn Prevention and Burn Survivor Support. The Burn Institute is the sole organization in San Diego and Imperial Counties serving and specializing in burn survivor support.
