Mission

Catholic Charities Diocese of San Diego exists to exemplify the scriptural values of mercy and hospitality by Witnessing the gospel message contained in “Matthew 25:“; to advocate for a just society by Calling individuals and institutions to action on behalf of the poor, the vulnerable and the marginalized; and to acknowledge the sacredness of the human person by Accompanying those we serve on their journey toward achieving their full potential as persons created in the image and likeness of God.

Vision

CCDSD administers over 20 programs grouped into four major departments: Homeless Services, Community Services, Refugee Services, and Immigration Services, offering a comprehensive continuum of person-centered services. Through our departments, our agency addresses food insecurity across diverse and underserved communities; the healthcare, housing, and socialization needs of low-income individuals and seniors; the healthcare, income, and housing needs of unsheltered adults; and the legal and psychosocial needs of immigrants and refugees.

Goals

1.CCDSD offers services to low-moderate income individuals earning less than 80% of the area median income, unsheltered individuals, people living with disabilities, seniors, immigrants, and refugees.
2.Our unique goal is participant self-sufficiency. We understand and address multiple barriers with a holistic approach, focusing on the "whole person."
3.Homeless Services Dept. supports unsheltered communities with trauma-informed care, addressing substance abuse and behavioral health and providing employment/housing resources.
