Livermore Heritage Guild

Mission

The Livermore Heritage Guild (LHG) is an all-volunteer community that manages three city-owned historic properties in the public interest with open house events once a month. With limited storage and display space, the LHG collects and preserves local historical artifacts, photos, and documentation. It is a resource for local history and family background research with a 12-page quarterly newsletter. Our major 2026 Project is moving a one-room schoolhouse from the Altamont hills to Hagemann Park. We are fundraising the needed $700,000 to prepare the city land, new foundation, ADA access, restoration of the windows and interior. Project Title: Midway School Museum

Vision

We promote public wonder and awe with Livermore history at our three historical sites.

Goals

1.Move and restore the last remaining rural One-Room Schoolhouse into Livermore. This will become our capstone education offering to complement our existing History mobile outreach to every elementary school (public and private) in Livermore for the past 50 years.
2.Rebuild our volunteer base (quantity and quality) to expand hours available to the general public and to work on projects that act as "calling cards" to new visitors.
3.Build a donor base that gets us beyond merely paying for expensive insurance policies to fund vital reconstruction that makes key historical buildings safe and finally open for public access (namely "Midway School" and the "Hagemann Ranch Farmhouse" )
