Mission

Florida CraftArt's mission is to grow the statewide creative economy by engaging the community and advancing Florida’s fine craft artists and their work. In Florida, hundreds of fine craft artists depend on sales of their artwork to support them financially. Some are top-notch professionals with business and marketing plans; others are mid-level producers who still need guidance, while some are novices. All of these artists need a dynamic place to show and sell their work and opportunities to show in exhibitions. All of these resources and mentoring are provided by Florida CraftArt (FCA), a statewide organization headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida. FCA engages the community with educational programming free of charge. Every year, there are eight curated shows in the Exhibition Gallery featuring local, regional, and national artists, as well as a national fine craft festival held the weekend before Thanksgiving. Educational programming includes walking and bike mural tours, art demonstrations, artist’s talks, lectures, hands-on activities, and workshops for adults and children. FCA provides working studios for 22 artists.
