Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region

Mission

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region supports families on their children's medical journeys with a community of comfort and hope. Our programs include two Ronald McDonald Houses in West and North Philadelphia serving 147 families nightly, three Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at local hospitals, Ronald McDonald Camp for oncology patients and their siblings, and a Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, operated in partnership with St. Christopher's Foundation for Children. Founded in 1974 as the very first Ronald McDonald House in the world, we are the model for the over 285 Houses throughout the globe.

1.To increase families' access to treatment, break down numerous economic, social, and emotional barriers for families, ensuring that leaving home for treatment is not a barrier to care for any child.
2.To reduce financial burdens experienced by families traveling for their seriously ill child's treatment and help meet their basic needs so that they focus on their child's care.
3.To enable families to maintain their own well-being and reduce their stress levels through the provision of holistic psychosocial support. We help families and children maintain a sense of normalcy.
