Metropolitan Youth Symphony

Mission

The mission of Metropolitan Youth Symphony is to educate, develop, and promote young musicians.

Vision

We envision an Oregon where all children can benefit from and enjoy music.

Goals

1.MYS offers two programs, our Ensemble Program and Music Access Program, that educate, develop, and promote our target population of Oregon K-12 youth. Annually, we work with approximately 400 youth.
2.As MYS celebrates our 50th Anniversary, we are launching a 10-year vision for The Oregon Center for Music Education, a pre-college conservatory that will transform Oregon’s art and culture sector.
3.The Oregon Center for Music Education (OCME) will house MYS' offices, performance and rehearsal space, and state-of-the-art recording studios. Through OCME, MYS will lead music education in Oregon.
