The Pittsburgh Project

Mission

The Pittsburgh Project is a faith-based community organization with the mission of sharing hope, empowering youth, and building community. Our staff operates a progressive series of youth after-school and summer programs and partners with volunteer groups annually to do community service. All of this is in pursuit of our vision: That Pittsburgh will be called a City of Truth, where once again men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets each with cane in hand because of age, and where the city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there (adapted from Zechariah 8:4-5).

Vision

The Pittsburgh Project works towards a vibrant, equitable and just future for Pittsburgh's Northside

Goals

1.ENGAGE: We build healthy, supportive relationships with students and families so they can be themselves, dream and try difficult things. We help navigate the school system, resources and services.
2.EQUIP: We provide non-traditional, SEL and community involvement. Our students learn to solve problems, think creatively, iterate ideas, collaborate and persevere through setbacks.
3.EMPOWER: We desire our students to become healthy members of healthy communities, who are committed to justice. We seek to instill a hope for a better tomorrow and their confidence to lead.
