Goals

1. 1.ACTS is conducting a capital campaign to renovate unused space into 12 kennels, 2 whelping areas, additional training and office space. This project will expand our capacity to raise and train more service and facility dogs, enabling us to meet growing demand and enhance our impact in the communities we serve. This will allow us to double the number of dogs placed with clients by the year 2030.
2. 2.ACTS will grow the ACTS of Compassion Therapy Dog Program by evaluating current practices, enhancing volunteer insurance options, and building systems to manage volunteers and partners, enabling more participants and increasing the program’s reach and positive community impact.
3. 3.ACTS will hire a full-time trainer to support the University of Vermont’s United Puppy Raisers of ACTS and their Wagging Retrievers (UPRAWR) club program. This role will guide students, improve puppy training and club organization, expand dogs in training, refine the application process, and explore additional collaboration opportunities within the University.
