Military Missions in Action
Mission
Military Missions In Action is a North Carolina-founded and focused veteran non-profit dedicated to assisting veterans in need, members of all Armed Forces, and their loving supporting families. For the last 16 years, MMIA has provided support through four programs: Homes For Healing, which provides new and gently used household furnishings and goods to assist veterans, active-duty servicemembers, and families in need of establishing housing stability; Operation Building Hope, which provides creative home modification services and emergency repairs to ensure that veterans and their family members with disabilities can remain living independently; and Fill The Footlocker, which provides support to forward deployed service members and military working dog teams by a touch of home through carefully crafted care packages. Fill The Footlocker also packs and delivers health, hygiene, and sundry items, along with clothing, shoes, and blankets, to unhoused veterans through our unhoused veterans stand-down backpacks. Also, through Fill The Footlocker, we provide the children of active-duty military and veterans in need with new toys, gifts, and clothing at Christmas time. Finally, we launched a new program in 2023: Warrior Wagon. Warrior Wagon is a transportation specifically for veterans to get them to and from appointments so that they may maintain their overall well-being. Since 2008, we’ve directly assisted over 131,000 veterans and their families, and we do so by sending over 85% of all donations directly to support our programming. We’re able to run a lean and efficient organization thanks to a dedicated team of committed volunteers. Military Missions In Action is a registered 501(c)3 organization and a Gold GuideStar nonprofit headquartered in Fuquay-Varina, NC, with an additional location in West End, NC and provides services for all 100 counties in the state.
Vision
At Military Missions in Action, we envision a world where every veteran and their family members, regardless of their challenges, are empowered to lead a life of dignity, independence, and purpose.
Goals

- 2.MMIA has taken the lead to provide no cost non emergency transportation to Veterans in the Wake, Harnett, Durham, Orange, Johnston, and Moore counties. Based on observed needs being unmet we have stepped up to assist these Veterans in need
