Goals

1.The 2026–2027 Senior Dog Grant Cycle represents a shift in how The Grey Muzzle Organization invests in senior dog well-being. Instead of focusing on funding isolated, individual programs, this cycle is intentionally designed to build a national evidence base for what truly improves outcomes for senior dogs—both in shelters and in homes.
2.The Grey Muzzle Board and staff is implementing a policy to invest in the financial capacity of the organization by establishing an endowment and launching a fundraising campaign to contribute to the endowment.
3.The Grey Muzzle Organization aims to collect data from grantees to establish best practices and disseminate this information to build capacity at shelters and rescues to serve more senior dogs.
