The nonprofit organization presents evidence of strategic thinking and goal setting through sharing their most important strategic goals.
Goal One: Acknowledging the power of culture, arts, and creativity as liberation tools. Ground programming in the traditions, legacies and rituals of Black and Latine/x people. Amplifying marginalized voices and incorporating opportunities for youth to share and learn from each other into programming. Prioritize, center, and focus on young folks expressing themselves in all programming.
Goal Two: Merging community organizing with culture work and infusing organizing principles and practices into all programming. campaigns as multi-year strategies and pull from the experiences and advice of past cohorts, current participants, and alums. Incorporate strategies for youth into programming curriculum to discuss cultural issues, cultural differences, and how to influence culture.
Goal Three: Root curriculum in anti-racist theoretical frameworks. Incorporate Black Feminism, Radical Youth Development, Queer Theory, Popular Education, Critical Race Theory, and Social Justice Education into all programming. Train all staff and board members in anti-oppression, popular education, radical youth development and social justice education strategies.
