IGNITE Worldwide has invested heavily in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategies over the past year. The IGNITE Worldwide Staff, including our Executive (governing) Board, is 100% women and 18% women of color. It is imperative that we, as an organization, recognize the need to better represent the students that we serve. It is also critical that we maintain proper and professional training on social and racial justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), implicit bias, and gender equity so that we can best represent the values and uphold the mission of IGNITE.

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
IGNITE Worldwide has adapted to many changes over the past year and a half. Staff has been expanded by an additional three people in order to meet the increased demand of our Program and the expansion into more schools. IGNITE faced several challenges to hold in-person events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This spearheaded the development of our virtual events which IGNITE has continued to refine and expand. Virtual events have allowed more accessibility not only for schools in the US but abroad as well. IGNITE will continue to provide accessible virtual programming and expand to more schools in the US and beyond. IGNITE Worldwide has had to balance high demand for in-person IGNITE Program Events and the trend of remote workers/offices of IGNITE Partners. We are trying to develop ways of holding events with our partners that will not require a physical field trip to an office. The pending recession has caused many tech companies to be somewhat reluctant with support. We are continually working with them to show that IGNITE is at the forefront of developing the next generation of talented employees that will be crucial to the success and prosperity of their companies.
