Mission

The mikeroweWORKS Foundation is on a mission to help close the skills gap by challenging the stigmas and stereotypes that discourage people from pursuing the millions of available jobs. We’re redefining a good education and a good job, because we don’t think a four-year degree is the best path for the most people. We want people to understand the impact of skilled labor on their lives, and we are convinced that the solution starts with a new appreciation for hard work.

Goals

1.By concentrating on core programs, like the Work Ethic Scholarship Program and work ethic curriculum, we can allocate time, funding, and expertise more effectively. We can make deeper and more lasting impact in education and workforce development, build long-term relationships with stakeholders, and reshape the societal mindset that values a four-year degree over vocational training.
2.Growing our existing programs will help more people gain access to opportunities in the skilled trades, address critical workforce shortages, challenge societal norms about career paths, and ultimately create a more sustainable, robust economy.
3.Investing in our organizational capacity will help us improve our ability to deliver on our mission--changing the perception of the skilled trades, addressing workforce development issues, and providing financial assistance to pursue opportunities in the trades.
