From October 2021-September 2022, all Haitian leadership walked through the "Lead Like Jesus" curriculum. They met weekly, looking at the Heart, Head, Hands and Habits of Jesus and the process of incorporating them into their lives and the lives of the people that they lead. Locally, 2 of our leaders attended the Global Leadership Summit for 2 days in August, where they experienced a variety of speakers all focused on developing different areas - strategy, time management, conflict resolution, etc - that help to strengthen leaders.

Strategic Partnerships - locally our CEO guided another thrift store's leadership to a successful launch. Internationally - we partner with MFI, SIM, Convoy of Hope and many others. Our CEO has shared his experience in the nonprofit world at several conferences and is asked regularly to speak at churches in the area. We build community by partnering with return to work programs, work training programs through local schools and our volunteer programs. We are very active on our social media channels and other marketing outlets sharing a variety of content - videos, stories, interviews and statistics to new a few.

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
The landscape in Haiti has been difficult since long before we started our mission there. However, the last 18 months have been some of the worst the country has ever seen. With inflation reported at 40-50% and the number of murders and kidnappings continuing to rise, it has become one of the most dangerous places on earth. Through these challenges, we have continued thrive. We are fortunate that we had the foresight to install solar power at our main campus, which has lowered our dependency on fuel. We have expanded our agricultural efforts, which has lowered our dependency on outside food sources. We have adjusted our shipping needs based on less flights in and out of our area. Through all of these adjustments we have kept our programs running and are even in the process of constructing our 4th campus. One of our biggest adjustments was beginning to take IMPACT trips to Abaco, Bahamas. Our IMPACT trips are a big part of our overall strategy and with the deteriorating climate in Haiti, we had to suspend those trips. Seeing an opportunity to positively affect another community, while providing others the chance to be a part of that journey, we knew that beginning out trips to Abaco was the right next step.
