The Color of Autism is a family-driven organization with Peer Support, Education, and Advocacy-driven programming supporting parents/Caretakers since 2009. Our support groups allow our families to meet in a safe environment where they can speak openly about their concerns. We facilitate monthly online groups for parents, siblings, self-advocates, and transgender youth on the spectrum. We have assisted over 600 families in navigating through Michigan's various care systems. We have hosted 30/5 week training with 227 parent graduates. Our parent training has received national recognition, and our data collection has been published in Scholarly Studies. In April 2022, we published our research titled “A culturally grounded autism parent training program with Black parents” in SAGE, a global academic publisher of books, journals, and a growing suite of library products and services.
