Mission

GiveDirectly is a nonprofit that lets donors send money directly to the world’s poorest households. We believe people living in poverty deserve the dignity to choose for themselves how best to improve their lives — cash enables that choice. Since 2009, we’ve delivered $700M+ in cash directly into the hands of over 1.5 million people living in poverty. We currently have operations in Bangladesh, DRC, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Morocco, Nigeria, Rwanda, Turkey, Uganda, USA, and Yemen.

1.Deliver donations and aid dollars as unconditional cash transfers to as many people facing poverty as possible, giving them the power to choose for themselves how best to address their own needs.
2.Develop technological innovations and government partnerships to increase the speed, precision, and inclusion of unconditional cash programs.
3.Contribute to research on the impact of unconditional cash transfer programs, and use these insights to inform future program design and implementation.
