Be Like Brit Foundation, Inc

Mission

BE LIKE BRIT WAS ESTABLISHED TO HONOR THE LIFE OF BRITNEY GENGEL, WHO DIED IN THE 2010 EARTHQUAKE IN HAITI WHILE ON A SERVICE TRIP WITH HER UNIVERSITY. THE MISSION OF BE LIKE BRIT IS "TO SERVE THE CHILDREN OF HAITI BY SUSTAINING A SAFE AND NURTURING CHILDREN'S HOME ROOTED IN THE VIRTUES OF FAITH, HOPE, AND LOVE, WHILE DEVELOPING A SENSE OF SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY, COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT, AND UNCONDITIONAL LOVE."

Vision

A Haiti where every child has the opportunity to grow up safe, loved, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential—and where they can become the leaders who help build a brighter future for their families and communities.

Goals

1.Expand educational and youth-development opportunities for children at Brit’s Home, including community-based high school education, college preparation, life skills, leadership development, and career readiness, helping each child reach their full potential.
2.Strengthen our core Transition Program to help young adults successfully move from Brit’s Home into college, employment, and independent living. Provide continued mentorship, education, life skills, and support while focusing resources on programs with the greatest long-term impact.
3.Strengthen Be Like Brit’s financial, operational, fundraising, security, and leadership capacity to ensure Brit’s Home remains sustainable for generations. Increase donor engagement, develop Haitian leadership, and build the organizational infrastructure needed to protect and expand our long-term impact.
