During this time, we focus on providing immediate, practical support and services for those fighting cancer. This assistance includes the personal services of Patient Advocacy, Education and Navigation through their medical treatment and personal needs. Adaptability Statement
30 out of 30 points
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
Our organization has faced significant challenges due to the ongoing impacts of the COVID pandemic. One of the notable consequences is that many patients who were initially denied treatment and preventive screenings are now approaching us with advanced-stage cancers, underscoring the urgency and importance of our mission. Moreover, the pandemic has resulted in the closure of some of the nonprofits we relied on to obtain essential resources for our patients, leaving us with the need to seek new avenues of support to ensure we can continue to serve our growing number of patients effectively. Despite these obstacles, we are committed to adapting and expanding our capacity to meet the rising rate of cancer diagnoses and ensure that no patient is turned away. Our organization has remained resilient even as some core individuals have relocated due to personal reasons but expressed their dedication to continuing their work with Hope Abounds. To facilitate this transition, we successfully shifted to remote working arrangements, providing the necessary equipment and support to enable our team members to continue their vital contributions. Throughout these challenging times, our focus remains steadfast on providing advocacy, education, and support to patients and families facing cancer diagnoses. We recognize the urgency of our mission and are actively seeking new resources and partnerships to fulfill our commitment to those who rely on us during their cancer journey. As we move forward, we will persist in our efforts to adapt, innovate, and ensure that our organization remains a source of hope and support for those in need.
