Mission

Through our mission of Teaching Life Lessons Through Education and Sport, the Maurice Lucas Foundation (MLF) partners with families, teachers, schools, like-minded individuals and organizations to create a community of champions who provide transformational opportunities and experiences for youth. We support students as they transition into middle school and through post high by offering programs that focus on academics, character development, physical activity, and building a sense of community. We track student progress, offer personalized tutoring, and emphasize "Seven Pillars" - goal setting, integrity, leadership, respect, hard work, personal responsibility, and positivity. Through sports and activities, students gain confidence to put these values into practice. Students are exposed to inspiring experiences like guest speakers and visits to colleges and companies, encouraging them to think big about their future goals and opportunities. We are steadfast in the belief that all young people have the right to a high-quality education and meaningful career choices in the pursuit of their dreams.
