Who are the people you serve with your mission? Describe briefly.

We serve different populations through our core programs: - primarily female and femme-identifying filmmakers through our Film Festival (last year, filmmakers came from 36 different countries, 18% identified as first-generation or immigrants, and 39% as LGBTQIA+) - Through our local program Girls' Voices Now, we serve girls and femme-identifying youth ages 14-18 from under-resourced communities of Los Angeles county. Last year, 60% identified as Latina, 10% as African-American or Black, 10% as Asian, 10% as White, 5% as Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander and 5% as Middle-Eastern. 20% of them identified as LGBTQI+, 75% of them qualified for Free or Reduced Lunch at school and 15% of them have experienced homelessness. For 35% of them, they would be the first in their family to go to college.

Our beneficiaries know best the challenges that they face. We can not offer good programming if their voice isn't central to the way we develop our programs. We have experience in offering solutions, but they will only be efficient if they actually address the specific challenges faced by our beneficiaries in the first place. We are doing this work together with the beneficiaries, not for them.

What challenges does your organization face in collecting feedback from the people you serve?

We don't have any major challenges to collecting feedback

Briefly describe a recent change that your organization made in response to feedback from the people you serve.

We offer year-round programming to all past and current participants of Girls' Voices Now. This programming consists in a mix of lectures/panels, hands-on workshops and reunions. Through surveys, participants decide which topics would be the most relevant and interesting to them, in order to support their personal, academic and/or professional development. Recently, we have also adjusted the length of this program (from four to five weeks) and reviewed the list of our guest speakers based on participants' feedback.
