Vision

All children deserve a loving family and a safe home. We believe the Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village can serve as a model of how to heal a traumatized society through caring for its children.

Goals

1. 1.We will develop a student recruitment model that allows the recruitment of students whose resilience and critical thinking skills will enable them to fully participate in programming and acquire skills to prepare for life after graduation. We will also provide struggling students with the remedial education, enrichment programs, mentorship, and training they need to achieve self-sufficiency.
2. 2.Extracurricular and technical and vocational education and training programs will equip students with the skills needed to access employment and entrepreneurship. We will also take steps to deliver a trauma-sensitive, gender-responsive, and data-driven living and learning environment, ensuring all students receive the support they need to heal and thrive.
3. 3.We will build organization effectiveness and sustainability by creating a pipeline of talented staff leaders, offering a competitive compensation package, and providing professional development opportunities. We will also develop a deep bench of Rwandan leadership, create pipelines for Board and leadership succession, and cultivate shared core values including commitment, respect, and integrity.
