Vision

The Perry Initiative aims to change the makeup of talent in the fields of orthopaedic surgery and engineering to include the most highly skilled innovative thinkers to solve the most complex challenges facing the medical field today.

Goals

1. 1.We aim to broaden the reach of existing pipeline programs. We will do this by converting sites that only host high school programs to site that host both high school and medical school programs. Our goal is to increase our medical school programs by 10% but formalizing program evaluation and outcomes tracking, securing additional funding for new sites, and updating our virtual program option.
2. 2.We aim to update the didactic and hands-on programming elements to better reflect the most recent medical innovations occurring in the field of orthopaedic surgery and medical device development. We also aim to expand the in-classroom curriculum to reach new audiences.
3. 3.We aim to achieve operational excellence and financial stability. Specific goals include diversifying funding sources by adding additional program sponsors and exploring sponsorships outside the medical device industry. We will also expand board membership to include specific necessary expertise and develop strong governance policies. Lastly we will optimize back-end logistics operations.
