Vision

At GO Tutor Corps, we recruit, train, and support a corps of young adults who are placed in partner schools where they intensively tutor students. Tutors have several roles, they instruct, mentor and develop the students with whom they are matched. GO Tutor Corps invests in the vitality of the communities in which our schools operate and in building an organization that is representative of them. We are committed to combating racism. GO Tutor Corps intentionally recruits a diverse group of tutors who reflect the children we serve and fosters inclusive learning environments for all students and staff. GO Tutor Corps invests in our tutors’ personal and professional development and invites a select group into a residency program to train them to become effective classroom teachers.

Goals

1. 1.In response to persistent learning gaps and declining math achievement among the low-income students we serve, we will launch new high-dosage math tutoring and expand early-literacy support in partner schools, designed around updated needs assessments conducted with school leaders, families, and district partners.
2. 2.Growing philanthropic support from foundations, corporations, and individual donors, and expanding fee-for-service partnerships with schools and districts. Our target is a more balanced funding mix that protects student services from disruption in any single funding stream.
