Dharamsala Animal Rescue

Mission

Our mission is to create a better world for animals and people by ending the human/street dog conflict. What do we do? We provide several key programs to achieve our goals: spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, rescue and adoption, and community education for rabies safety and compassion.

Vision

No more homeless dogs.

Goals

1.We know our programs work at the small scale we are working at today. Our number one goal is to get enough space, staff, training, and funding to increase our scale to have a greater impact.
2.We know that we can sterilize and vaccinate as many dogs as possible, but if the community still thinks they are pests, dangerous, etc, nothing will change. We have expanded and will continue to expand our outreach and education program. We will perform surveys to understand basic data and prepare programs based on data. Our goal in 2026 is to reach 2000 people in person and more online.
3.We need to fundraise to be able to have our own land and build out a clinic/shelter to our specifications. We have been on rented land and buildings for 13 years now. We do the best we can in this space, but we need to focus on investing in this. In addition, we need to add to our fundraising staff - currently, it is only the CEO doing the fundraising with the help of a social media person.
