Mission

The United Way of Clark, Champaign & Madison Counties is a non-profit organization which seeks to improve the health and human service conditions in a three-county region. United Way focuses on improving people's lives in three primary focus areas: health, education and financial stability. Our local United Way is also a funder of 2-1-1 Information & Referral Services and is the local affiliate for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in Clark, Champaign and Madison Counties. Founded in 1953, the organization's mission is to increase the organized capacity for people to care for one another.

We will be champions of our communities, empowering individuals and improving lives, while striving for ideals that facilitate lasting, positive change.

Goals

1.Breaking down barriers for families including transportation, daycare vs. pre-K and better-at-home concepts. New programming would deal with early brain development and early literacy.
2.Building early connections with families starting at birth with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and bringing families into the school community earlier to engage before the start of kindergarten.
3.Educating parents about what early brain development and kindergarten readiness means. Also, educating our communities about the Cradle-to Career mindset.
