Mission

Caring Kitchen is a faith-based 501c3 non-profit operating in Urbana, Ohio since 1985. We provide the following programs: • Emergency Homeless Shelter • Soup Kitchen • Food Pantry • Clothing & Household Goods Pantry • Utility Assistance • Tutoring Our outreach is based on the Bible and motivated by the Love of God. The primary purpose for which we were formed is to be an advocate for and to provide services without discrimination to people in need.

Vision

A compassionate community where no one faces homelessness alone — where every individual has access to safe shelter, nourishing meals, and a path to lasting stability and dignity.

Goals

1.Provide Immediate, Safe Shelter Ensure all guests have access to a secure, clean, and welcoming environment during times of crisis or displacement.
2.Meet Basic Human Needs Offer nutritious meals, hygiene services, clothing, and essential supplies to promote dignity and well-being.
3.Offer Compassionate, Trauma-Informed Support Train staff and volunteers to interact with empathy and understanding, recognizing the complex challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness.
