Like all schools, Lafayette School continues to face the challenges posed by the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in addressing the problematic and unhealthy behaviors arising from the trauma of disconnection, isolation, lack of peer interaction, and lack of socially acceptable behaviors among its student population. To effectively address these challenges, the school has implemented several strategic initiatives:
Provision of Therapy and Support Services: Lafayette School continues to offer therapy and support services to its students to address their emotional and behavioral needs. This includes virtual therapy sessions and increased check-ins with students and their families.
Social-Emotional Learning: The school has integrated social-emotional learning into its curriculum to help students develop the skills to manage their emotions and behaviors healthily.
Peer Interaction Opportunities: The school has created opportunities for students to interact with their peers through group activities and socially-distanced outdoor events to help them develop social skills and reduce feelings of disconnection and isolation.
