    Mission

    The National CARES is a pioneering, community-mobilization initiative that works through its 58-city Affiliate Network to support, nurture and advance young people living in deep poverty and social isolation. Our healing-trauma-informed programs are led by CARES-trained psychologists, wellness professionals and mentors who engage young people in groups using our proprietary curriculum to ensure that our mentees are provided the social-emotional, academic and career-readiness tools and supports they must have to become self-sustaining, successful contributors to our society. To date, we have recruited more than 250,000 mentors who are serving, or have served, more than 350,000 children.
