Mission

Cleveland Botanical Garden was founded in 1930 as the Garden Center of Greater Cleveland. In 2014, Cleveland Botanical Garden integrated with The Holden Arboretum, creating one of the largest public gardens in the United States, Holden Forests & Gardens (HF&G), whose mission is to connect people with the wonder, beauty, and value of trees and plants, to inspire action for<br>healthy communities. HF&G has 18,000 member households and an annual attendance of nearly 380,000 in a typical year. The Cleveland Botanical Garden is an urban oasis that connects guests to nature through nine acres of outdoor gardens and 17,000 sq. ft. of indoor biomes transporting visitors to the desert of Madagascar and the Costa Rican rainforest. Seasonal exhibitions and educational programming for learners of all ages ensure make the wonders of nature accessible and welcoming for all.
