Mission

The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is a community service organization dedicated to putting Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Twelve YMCA branches serve more than 171,000 people and provide over $6 million in scholarships and subsidies to those who otherwise would not be able to access Y programs. There are three focus areas within this mission: (1) Healthy Living: the people, programs and facilities that let everyone pursue a balance of fitness, community, and reversing the effects of chronic disease; (2) Social Responsibility: youth empowerment through college and career preparation; and (3) Youth Development: helping children through all phases of their development, from earliest foundations to becoming healthy, engaged adults.
