Mission

Founded in 1998, Youth First, Inc. exists to strengthen and transform the lives of young people and families through Master's level social workers embedded in schools free of charge who deliver on-site behavioral mental health services and evidence-based programs that prevent substance abuse, improve relationships, and develop critical life skills. <br><br>Youth First Social Workers become specialized mentors for students and prevention coaches for parents/caregivers and teachers. Now in 75 schools in Indiana and with 10 years of independently analyzed data, Youth First's specialized mentoring is decreasing the risk of addiction and other dangers in Indiana youth. This means increased employability, happiness and health for our future adults.<br> <br>Our organization has proven to be not only effective for youth but also sustainable through a blended stream of funding through state government, local schools, and private charitable donors, a balance of investment that holds steady over time.<br>
